If the control module finds that the signal from the brake light switch is missing if pedal sensor leaves position 2, it posts DTC 1-4-2.

Substitute value
None.

Sources of fault
- Signal lead short circuited to ground.
- Open circuit in signal lead.
- Faulty brake light switch.
- Brake light switch adjustment changed.
- Contact resistance in terminals.
