Checking Ground Lead Connector [EF8]
Checking Ground Lead Connector
- Ignition off.
- Disconnect wheel sensor.
- Disconnect control module.
- Check rear wheel sensor connectors 24/19, 24/4 and 24/2 for loose contact as per HA5, contact resistance and oxidation as per HA6. Checking Leads and Connections [HA]
Connect an ohmmeter between wheel sensor terminal 1 and test box:
- #27 (DTC 3-1-4)
- #28 (DTC 3-1-3)
NOTE: In cars with integrated cabling to rear wheel sensors, take readings between test box:
- #27 and connector 24/19 terminal 4 (DTC 3-1-4)
- #28 and connector 24/19 (DTC 3-1-3) terminal 3
Ohmmeter should read approx. 0 Ohms.
If reading is OK:
- DTC was due to poor contact in wheel sensor connector.
If reading is incorrect:
- Check lead between wheel sensor connector terminal 2 and control module #27 (DTC 3-1-4) and #28 (DTC 3-1-3) for open circuit as per HA2. Open Circuit [HA2]
NOTE: In cars with integrated cabling to rear wheel sensors, check lead between wheel sensor connector:
- 24/19 terminal 3 and #28 on control module (DTC 3-1-3)
- 24/19 terminal 4 and #27 on control module (DTC 3-1-4)for open circuit as per HA2 Open Circuit [HA2]
