4-4-2 Pump Pressure Too Low

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information Conditions for DTC
If pedal sensor reaches position 7 (brake pedal right down) during ABS control, the hydraulic pump cuts in for approx. 0.7 seconds. If the control module finds via the pedal sensor that the brake pedal is not being pushed back up by hydraulic pressure when the hydraulic pump is on, it posts DTC 4-4-2.

Substitute value
- ABS/TRACS cuts out. The fault is considered so serious that the ABS (TRACS) warning indicator will not go out until the DTC is erased.

Sources of fault
- Brake fluid leak in the system.
- Air in the system.
- Faulty master cylinder
- Faulty pedal sensor.
- Faulty hydraulic unit.

Symptoms
- Brake pedal goes right down.
- Brake fluid leak.
