Diagnostic Test Mode 1
Diagnostic Test Mode 1Road test
The road test must be conducted at a speed of at least 35 km/h (22mph) in order to activate the cruise control. Check also that the speedometer works.
Activate cruise control.
The codes stored in diagnostic test mode 1 should be read after road-testing. This is because the on-board diagnosis of the cruise control system does not store codes the way many diagnostic systems do, but cancels the codes when the ignition is turned off.
Another difference is that unless the road test is done at a speed of 35 km/h or above, trouble code 1-2-2 is always given to indicate that the speed has not exceeded the minimum speed. Only after the control module has received a speed signal exceeding 35 km/h (22mph) will 1-1-1 or a trouble code be stored.
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) 1-1-1 No faults detected. The speed has exceeded the minimum speed of 35 km/h (22mph)
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) 1-1-2 Abnormal speed signal
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) 1-2-2 The speed has not exceeded 35 km/h (22mph), or no speed signal
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) 2-1-1 Control module malfunction
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) 2-1-2 Malfunction in the circuit to the vacuum pump or regulator
Starting Diagnostic Test Mode 1
NOTE: If the engine is turned off after the road test, code 1-2-2 will be stored. A new road test must then be performed.
Preparation
Press diagnostic button on diagnostic unit A once, for about 1 second. Read and make note of the trouble code.
Check
Check if more than one trouble code is stored by pressing the diagnostic button one more time, for about 1 second.
Read and make note of all trouble codes until the first trouble code comes back. Fault trace for each of the above trouble codes.
