A/C Compressor Control

A/C System:

Purpose:
The ECM controls operation of the AC electromagnetic clutch to decrease engine load and prevent overheating.

Operation:
The ECU prevents the AC clutch from operating when:
- The throttle is fully open (as signaled from the throttle position switch). Maximum 15 seconds.
- Coolant temperature is above 257° F (125° C) as signaled from the coolant temperature sensor.
- If A/C system pressure exceeds 3000 kPa.
