M. Checking the diagnostic socket

Checking the LED
- Ignition on.
- Press the button on the diagnostic socket.
The LED should light up when the button is pressed in.

If the LED does not light up:
^ Check the battery input M2.

If the LED lights up:
^ Check the voltage supply from the control unit M4.

Checking the battery input
- Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter between 4 in the connector and ground.
The voltmeter should show battery voltage.

If the value is OK:
^ Check the chassis connection M3.

If the value differs:
^ Check the fuse and wire leading to it for signs of breakage according to CD. CD. Checking of Wiring

Checking the chassis connection
- Ignition on.
Connect an ohmmeter between B on the connector and ground.
The ohmmeter should show approx. 0 ohms.

If the value is OK:
^ Test using a new diagnostic socket.

If the value differs:
^ Check the chassis connection and wire leading to it for breakage according to CD. CD. Checking of Wiring

Checking of voltage supply from the control unit
- Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter between 2 on the connector and ground.
Connect a voltmeter between 6 on the connector and ground.
The voltmeter should show more than 5 volts in both measurements.

If the values are OK:
^ Replace the diagnostic socket

If the value differs:
^ Check the wiring between the control unit and the diagnostic unit for breakage or short circuit to ground according to CD. CD. Checking of Wiring
