A/C Systems

R134a refrigerant is used in A/C systems. An R134a A/C system may be identified by a decal on the righthand front wheelhouse and a yellow plastic ring around the filler valve marked "R134a". This refrigerant must not be mixed or used in A/C systems where other refrigerants are specified. In addition, other types of refrigerant R-12 should never be used in an R134a system. Using the wrong type of refrigerant will result in serious damage to the compressor.
Always wear safety goggles and gloves when working with any type of refrigerant. Frostbite may occur if refrigerant comes into contact with the skin or eyes.
