Evap Hose Replacement
Background
This service bulletin describes how to replace the hose between the roll-over valve and the canister.

Evap Hose Replacement
Replacing evap hose between roll-over valve and canister

Fault Tracing
Perform fault tracing.
If fault tracing reveals a clogged hose between the rollover valve and the canister ( with white sticky residual), the canister must also be replaced.
Removal

Preparation
Raise the car.
Apply corrosion solvent on the bolt joint to the fuel filter.

Removing air guide
Remove the screws at the outer edge.
Push the guide forward until the guide comes loose at the rear edge.
Pull back the guide until the clips at the front edge come loose.

Removing wheel arch liner
Remove the LH frnnt wheel.
Warning!
Use eyeprotection when drilling.
Note!
Remove only the head of the rivit. Do not drill through material.
Carefully drill the head off the 9 pop rivets using a 6 mm drill.
Remove the wheel arch liner and the mudflap.

Removing canister
Remove the canister.
Release hoses to canister.
Release the canister by unscrewing the long screw.

Releasing hose
Cut off the tie strap (1 and 2).
Unhook hose from clips (3).

Removing cover
Remove the cover by carefully bending it down and unscrewing the clips.
Release hose from cover.

Removing and installing hose
Loosen bolt (1) to fuel filter.
Note!
Do not allow any dirt to enter hoses and valves.
Carefully remove hose at roll-over valve (2) and pressure regulator. (3).
Install a new rubber joint to a new plastic line to the rollover valve.
Install a new hose to the roll-over valve and pressure regulator.
Install bolt to fuel filter.

Installing hose and rail
Install new clips (A) and sleeves (B) to rail. Press clips and sleeves firmly together.
Put the hoses in their respective cover duct.
Push clips onto bolt (C).
Tighten clips (A).

Clamping the line
Install new clips (2) to the subframe.
Fasten hose in clips (2 and 3).
Install a new tie strap (1).
Note!
Install canister before tightening the tie strap.
Install a new rubber hose to canister line.

Fastening hoses and canister
Move clips/holder to new canister.
Install hose to canister. Use a new clamp.
Attach two thin hoses to canister as follows:
1 Connect hose from tank with moulded rubber collar to canister at the connection marked "TANK".
2 Connect hose to EVAP valve to canister at the connection marked "PURGE".
3 Install the canister in position and tighten. Check that the upper clamp has a firm grip around the top edge of the canister.
4 Install hose to clips/holder on the top of the canister.
5 Check that the hose is firmly fastened.
6 Tighten tie strap.
7 Re-install the air guide.

Fastening wheel arch liner
Install wheel arch liner and mudflap. Use new pop rivets.
Tighten plastic nuts.
Install LH front wheel. Tighten nuts to 120 Nm (88 ft. lb).
Start engine to ensure operation and check for DTC's.
WARRANTY STATEMENT: Claims may be submitted under the New Car Warranty when there is a documented customer complaint, using claim type 01.
