Squeaking From Rear Facing Seats
Remove:
- auxiliary rear facing seat and backrest.
Apply anti-creaking paint, P/N 1161412-0, on spacers and mountings.
Squeaking between sill trim panel and bodywork in tailgate opening
Install:
- masking tape (A) 3 mm (1/8") from sill trim panel (8) to mark the site on sill trim panel.
Remove:
- sill trim panel (B).
Install:
- teflon tape (C), P/N 9132169-5, edge to edge with the previously installed marking tape (A).
Cut away the tape around the key.
Remove:
- marking tape (A).
Press the teflon tape properly into place (C) so that any air bubbles disappear.
File away any burrs on the sill trim panel before it is reinstalled.
Squeaking between side panel and side window due to adhesive residue
Check distance between side panel and side window. If the panel bears on the side window, either file or sand the panel so the distance is 2-3 mm (5/64"-1/8") between the panel and side window.
Remove:
- superfluous adhesive.
Squeaking from the side piece C-panel
Remove:
- side piece.
File away material from the side piece as illustrated.
(2 mm = 5/64")
(4O mm = 1-9/16")
Squeaking between the insulation and side panels.
Press together 3 foam pieces, P/N 679904-3, on each side.
Install the foam pieces on the insulation panels as illustrated.
Right-hand side.
Left side.
Squeaking between D-panel and bodywork
Remove panel.
Install 2 pieces of teflon tape, P/N 9132169-5, on the side panel reverse side supports. If the supports are too pointed, file away the sharp edges.
Press the teflon tape into place so the air bubbles disappear.
