Tachometer: Description and Operation

Tachometer (RPM):

The tachometer shows the engine speed at any time. The tachometer takes its control signal at 2 pulses/turn from the ignition control module. The ignition control unit takes information on the engine speed from the impulse sensor mounted on the flywheel.

The tachometer is graduated up to 7000 rpm (VDO) or 8000 rpm (Yazaki).
