The cable must be adjusted if the lever reaches the 11th notch.
Note:
^ The car must be resting on the ground when the parking brake is adjusted.
^ If a cable has been replaced, the brake must be applied 8-10 times before final adjustment is carried out.
^ The following applies if the parking brake shoes have been replaced: Apply brake lightly, drive 200-300 meters at max. 30 km/h (18.6 mph) to bed in the linings against the drum and carry out final adjustment.
AA1. Remove ashtray and holder from rear of parking brake cover
AA2. Tap out spring sleeve (earlier type only).
Use screwdriver and hammer.
Tap sleeve to free from adjusting screw.
AA3. Adjust cable (earlier and later versions)
Adjust until lever can be tightened to max. 7-8 notches (of which the first two should be free travel). Braking action should be felt at fourth to sixth notch.
AA4. Reinstall ashtray and holder
