A/C Pressure Sensor

The air conditioning (A/C) pressure sensor transmits a linear signal. It informs the engine control module (ECM) about pressure in the air conditioning high pressure circuit.

The air conditioning pressure sensor regulates:

^ start of engine cooling fan (FC), low-speed
^ start of engine cooling fan, high-speed
^ stopping compressor if air conditioning pressure is too high
^ torque compensation for air conditioning on/off.

The pressure sensor receives 5 Volts from the engine control module. The sensor signal may vary between 0 and 5 Volts, depending on the system pressure. Low pressure produces a low voltage signal and high pressure a high voltage signal.

The air conditioning pressure sensor is located in the air conditioning high-pressure circuit.
