Condition




- Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) Cl-174 is stored if the engine speed (RPM) exceeds 100 rpm and the combined instrument panel does not register a fuel consumption signal within 60 seconds.

Possible source
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in signal cable.
- Short-circuit to ground in signal cable
- open-circuit in signal cable
- One or more diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored in engine control module (ECM).

Fault symptom[s]
- In cars equipped with a trip computer the incorrect average fuel consumption, actual fuel consumption and range to empty fuel tank values are displayed.
