Hood Latch Release Cable: Service and Repair

Replacing [1][2]hood release cable




Remove [1][2]hood release cable from the release handle.
Cut the existing [1][2]hood release cable
Tie the new hood release cable to the old one and pull it through the firewall into the engine compartment.
Connect the [1][2]hood release cable to the hood catch and release handle.
Adjust according to Adjusting [1][2]hood release cable

Adjusting [1][2]hood release cable




Adjust the [1][2]hood release cable between the hood catches or with the adjustment screw in the passenger compartment.

Adjust
- Push in the release handle in the passenger compartment as far as possible
- Adjust the [1][2]hood release cable with the adjustment screw in the passenger compartment to take up the slack in the cable.
- Adjust the [1][2]hood release cable between the hood catches by moving the hinges sideways
