Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview


BOA1 Testing





The following conditions are required to operate the [1][2]hood:
- Speed of less than 4 km/h (2.5 miles/h).
- Close the luggage compartment lid.

- Check if the relay test is done when the ignition is switched on (a rattling noise should be heard from the control unit).
- Ignition on.
- Operate the toggle switch to move the [1][2]hood.
- Move the [1][2]hood to its end position.

When [1][2]hood operates:
- Check that the facia LED on the toggle-switch comes on while [1][2]hood is operating.
- Check that the side windows move up and down correctly.
- Check that the [1][2]hood rolls normally and does not sag or catch.
- Check for noise from the [1][2]hood during operation.
- Check that the facia LED goes off when the [1][2]hood reaches its end position.
- Check for a warning signal from the buzzer when the [1][2]hood reaches its end position.

Additional checks:
- Check that the luggage compartment lid does not open (electrically) when [1][2]hood operates.
- Check that the air-conditioning is switched to manual when the [1][2]hood is lowered (ECC applies).
- Check that the rear windscreen heater is switched off when the [1][2]hood is lowered (check using the lamp in combination instrument).

Check that the [1][2]hood cannot be activated if:
- The luggage compartment lid is open.
- The engine is running.
- The parking brake is not applied.
- The speed is greater than 4 km/h (2.5 miles/h). (Parking brake slightly on.).
