Front Seat Belt Roller With Tensioner



CEA3. Removal of the seat belt roller with tensioner in the B pillar

Removal of the spacer with guide






Remove:
Rear side panel.
2 screws attaching the spacer and guide.

Installing
When installing the screws, torque setting = 48 Nm (35 ft-lb).



Removal of the seat belt roller with tensioner






WARNING! Make sure the battery is disconnected before disconnecting or connecting the ignition wire connector. Never use an ohmmeter or any other charged measuring instrument on a disconnected, unreleased seat belt tensioner. There is a risk that it could be released.


Removal:
Disconnect the ignition wire connector from the seat belt tensioner.
Loosen the screw in the bottom edge of the seat belt roller with tensioner. Remove the seat belt roller with tensioner through the opening in the side of the B pillar.


WARNING! After a crash, always replace both guides, seat belt rollers with tensioners and seat belt locks, even if nobody was in the passenger seat.


Installation
When installing the screw, torque setting = 48 Nm (35 ft-lb).


WARNING! Do not disassemble or repair the seat belt tensioner or install it in another vehicle.






CEA4. Check the position of the piston in the seat belt tensioner
Put a steel wire in the tube on the seat belt tensioner as shown in the figure. Check the position of the piston in the seat belt tensioner.

Piston in position A:
The seat belt tensioner is released. Replace both seat belt rollers with tensioners.

Piston in position B:
The seat belt tensioner is unreleased.
