DTC EFI-414
4-1-4 BOOST PRESSURE CONTROLCondition
The Engine Control Module (ECM) derives boost pressure from the Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor signal. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) EFI-414 is stored if the engine control module (ECM) registers that the mass air flow (MAF) sensor is fault-free and the load signal exceeds a certain level.
Substitute Value
- The system only permits initial boost pressure.
Possible Source
- Defective mass air flow (MAF) sensor.
- Contact resistance in terminals.
- Open-circuit in boost pressure reduction cable from AW 5O-42.
- Blocked hoses between Turbocharger (TC) and Turbocharger (TC) Control Valve or turbocharger (TC) control valve and pressure servo.
- Defective turbocharger (TC) control valve.
- Defective boost pressure control (BPC) valve pressure servo.
- Sticking Boost Pressure Control (BPC) Valve.
Fault Symptom(s)
- Fuel injection is interrupted when boost pressure reaches its maximum limit. Because of this the engine runs very unevenly.
- Poor performance due to initial boost pressure.
- Proceed to Faulty Signal section.
