DTC EFI-534
5-3-4 IGNITION DISCHARGE MODULE GROUP DTrouble Code Conditions
- Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) EFI-534 Ignition discharge module (IDM) group D is stored if the engine control module (ECM) registers a fault in the ignition coil, fuel pump (FP), AW 50-42 load signal, malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) or engine cooling fan (FC) high speed circuits.
Substitute value(s)
- The ignition discharge module is shut off until the fault has disappeared.
Possible source(s)
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in ignition driver module signal cable.
- Defective ignition discharge module/ignition coil.
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in fuel pump relay signal cable.
- Defective fuel pump relay.
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in transmission control module (TCM) load signal cable.
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in malfunction indicator lamp signal cable.
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in engine cooling fan high.
- Speed signal cable.
- Defective engine cooling fan relay.
Fault symptom(s)
- Engine may run unevenly depending on fault cause.
- Engine may not start depending on fault cause.
- Automatic transmission may shift at wrong time depending on fault cause.
- Malfunction indicator lamp may light when the ignition is switched on depending on fault cause.
- engine cooling fan high-speed may not work depending on fault cause.
