Condition





The EBD pressure switch contacts are normally closed when the primary hydraulic bake system circuit is not pressurized and open when the system is pressurized (during braking). Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ABS-141 is stored if the control module registers that; the pressure switch circuit is open when the car accelerates at above 30 km/h; that the circuit is closed when the car is decelerating; or that there is a short-circuit to ground in the circuit.

Substitute value

- ABS/TRACS function disabled.
- EBD function available.

Possible source





- Short-circuit to supply voltage or ground in the signal cable.
- Open-circuit in the ground lead or signal cable
- Short-circuit between ground lead and signal cable
- Defective EBD pressure switch
- Contact resistance in terminals

Fault symptom[s]

- If the ABS system is disabled the wheels may lock during braking.
- The anti-spin function will not function on cars with TRACS.
