Checking for short-circuit
- Check lead between #A16 and TP sensor terminal 3 for short-circuit to ground as per Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.

- Ignition off.
- Connect TP sensor.

Activate instrument, by selecting VST symbol.
- Ignition on.
- Read TP sensor value.
Reading should be approx. 0.4 V at idling and increase to approx. 4.0 V at WOT.
OK - DTC was due to poor connections in TP sensor connector.Treat connector for contact resistance and oxidation as per Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Not OK - Try another TP sensor.

- Connect voltmeter across throttle position sensor connector terminals 1 and 2.
Instrument should indicate approx. 5 V.

Not OK - Check lead between throttle position sensor connector terminal 2 and MFI module #A2 for open-circuit as per Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.

Not OK - Try with new throttle position sensor.
