Faulty Signal. Permanent Fault
Faulty signal. Permanent fault
Checking connectors and wiring
- Check control module connector C for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
- Connect the control module.
- Check the function of the micro-switches.
- Check that the micro-switches appear normal.
- Ignition on.
- Read off the status of the micro-switches.
- Activate the right micro-switch manually so that it is constantly active.
- Operate the left micro-switch manually.
The status should change from activation (micro-switch on) to non activation (micro-switch off).
Activate the left micro-switch manually so that it is constantly active.
Operate the right micro switch manually.
The status should change from activation (micro-switch on) to non activation (micro-switch off).
Other information:
- To access / replace the control module see Replacing the control module Service and Repair.
- To access the lock cover micro-switch, see Replacing and adjusting micro-switches Replacing and Adjusting Micro-Switches.
- There is a short-circuit to ground if the status is constantly low.
- There is an open-circuit or a short-circuit to voltage if the status is constantly high.
Hint: The micro-switch can be activated by hand or using a pointed tool. Be careful.

Check micro-switch connector for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Connect an ohmmeter between the micro switch connector 1 and ground and between 2 and ground. Test for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault. The micro-switch should be in unaffected position.
Try a new micro-switch if a short-circuit is found.
If no fault is found there is probably a fault in the cable between the control module and the micro-switch connector.
Remedy as necessary.
