Status check




- Gear selector in neutral.
- Lift up the front suspension so that both front wheels are hanging free.

Warning! In cars with AWD, lift up the car so that all wheels are hanging free.

- Ignition on.
- Go into rolling values.
- Turn the front wheel so that the speed exceeds 2kph for at least 2 seconds and read off the 12-pulse vehicle speed signal status.









Is the status OK displayed?

Yes - Faulty signal. Intermittent fault

No - Checking for a short-circuit to supply voltage

Check cable between the combined instrument panel #A7 and engine control module (ECM) #B18 for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
On cars with cruise control: Check cable between combined instrument panel #A7 and cruise control control module #8S for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
On cars with radio: Check cable between combined instrument panel #A7 and radio #7B for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
On cars with accessories connected to #C: Check cable between combined instrument panel #C and connected accessories for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
On cars with VGLA: Check cable between combined instrument panel #A7 and multi relay 2/76 #B9 for an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
On cars with RTI: Check cable between combined instrument panel #A7 and RTI control module #B3 for an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.

- Ignition off.
- Reinstall connectors, components etc.
- Gear selector in neutral.
- Lift up the front suspension so that both front wheels are hanging free.
