Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Condition




- The combined instrument panel registers no charge signal (D+) from the generator (GEN) when the engine speed (RPM) signal exceeds 1000 rpm for at least 10 seconds.

Possible source

- Defective generator (GEN).
- Large contact resistance.
- Broken/slipping fan belt.
- Poorly tensioned drive belt.

Fault symptom[s]
- The generator charge warning lamp is lit when the engine is running. The bulb failure warning sensor, brake circuit, parking brake, engine coolant level, SRS, low fuel level, SRI and low washer reservoir level warning lamps are also lit.
