Status check
Note! If diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ABS-311 and ABS-312 are stored start fault-tracing according to these diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) because they will probably solve the fault.
- Start engine.
- Test drive the car or lift up the front suspension and remove both front wheels.
Warning! Cars with AWD, test drive the car at speeds higher than 20 kph, alternatively lift up the front and rear suspension safely and remove all wheels.
Note! When the rear wheels are stationary and the front wheels rotate, diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) may be stored in the ABS system. Erase any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored in the ABS system after fault-tracing.
Note! Ensure that the front wheels are not rotating when the gear selector is moved.
- Go into scrolling values.
- Read off speed.
Is the speed displayed within its permitted range?
Yes - Faulty signal, Intermittent fault
No - Checking ABS signal voltage
-------------------------------------------------
Checking ABS signal voltage
- Ignition off.
- Disconnect ABS control module.
- Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter between #6 and #8 on the breakout box.
The voltmeter should read approximately 6 V.
OK - Fault cause and checking for contact resistance and oxidation
Low - Checking for an open-circuit or short-circuit to ground
High - Checking for a short-circuit to supply voltage
-------------------------------------------------
Checking for an open-circuit or short-circuit to ground
Check cable between combined instrument panel #A3 and ABS control module #6 for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault and a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.

-------------------------------------------------
Fault cause and checking for contact resistance and oxidation
The cause of the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) has been loose connections in the ABS control module connector. Check connector for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.

Information
Fault-tracing information
The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed.
Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.
Do you want to exit fault-tracing?
Yes - Exit fault-tracing
No - Attempt New Test

Faulty signal. Intermittent fault
Faulty signal. Intermittent fault
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) may have been caused by the engine speed (RPM) having exceeded 1500 rpm for at least one minute with the gear selector in neutral position.
Then select continue.
Continue - Checking cables and terminals
