Moves in the wrong direction

Operate the seat forward/backward using the control button.
Does the seat move in the correct direction?
Yes - Checking wiring in potentiometer 1
No - Switching connections on motor 1

Switching connections on motor 1
- Ignition OFF.
- Remove seat from car according to Replacing seat assembly Replacing Seat Assembly.
- Disconnect black 14-pin connector C.
Switch over the leads:
- Press out pins in pos. 1 (blue lead) and 2 (violet lead) from connector C. Use terminal removal tool 951 2631 Terminal removal tool 951 2631 Terminal Removal Tool.
- Switch the leads over and press the pins into the connector.
Press "Continue" when the fault has been remedied.

Checking wiring in potentiometer 1
- Ignition OFF.
- Remove seat from car according to Replacing seat assembly Replacing Seat Assembly.
- Disconnect black 14-pin connector C.
Check that the brown lead is connected to C:12 and the red lead to C:13.
If the leads are in the wrong positions:
- Press out pins C:12 and C:13. Use terminal removal tool 951 2631 Terminal removal tool 951 2631 Terminal Removal Tool.
- Switch the leads over and press the pins into the connector.
- Reinstall connector
Were the connections OK?
Yes - Replace component
No - Verification

Replace component
The motor and potentiometer are correctly connected to the control module.
Try a new control module according to Control module, replace Control Module.
Press "Continue" when the fault has been remedied.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied as follows:
- Ignition OFF.
- Connect up seat in car.
Select scrolling values and read off the value from the potentiometer for motor 1.
Operate the seat forwards and backwards using the seat control buttons.
The value should increase when the seat moves forwards and decrease when it moves backwards.
