Signal Missing. Permanent Fault
Signal missing. Permanent fault
Checking the connector
- Ignition off.
- Check the connectors for the solenoids and for the control module for contact resistance and oxidation and remedy according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
- Check for damage carefully.
Other information:
- To disconnect / replace the control module, see Replacing the Roll-over Protection System (ROPS) module Service and Repair.
- To disconnect / replace the solenoid see Replacing the roll-over bar cassette Removal and Replacement.
Select Continue when the fault has been remedied.
Continue - Checking components and wiring
-------------------------------------------------
Checking components and wiring
For S1: Check the ground lead between control module 4 and solenoid 2, and the signal cable between control module 5 and solenoid 1. Check for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
For S2: Check the ground lead between control module 17 and solenoid 2, and the signal cable between control module 21 and solenoid 1. Check for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Connect the connectors for the solenoids.
For S1: Connect an ohmmeter between control module 4 and 5 (solenoid side).
For S2: Connect an ohmmeter between control module 17 and 21 (solenoid side).
The ohmmeter should read approximately 4 ohms.
Is the value correct? Try replacing the present roll-over bar cassette.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.
- Ignition off.
- Wait 10 seconds, so that the system is without voltage.
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on.
- Read off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
If the DTC status changed to intermittent it means that the fault is no longer present.
Does the status change?
Yes - Verification, continued
No - VERIFICATION FAILED

- Ignition off.
- Press the roll-over bars down if they are deployed.
- Ignition on.
Activate the solenoids.
Warning! No personnel should be near the roll-over bars when they are activated.
Were the solenoids activated?

Fault-tracing information
The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed.
Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.
Do you want to exit fault-tracing?
Yes - Exit fault-tracing
No - Attempt New Test
