Checking the control module




- Ignition on.
- Disconnect the Volvo Scan Tool (ST) from the VIDA station. Use it in stand alone mode and connect it to the data link connector (DLC) in the car.
- Use the System test function to test the control module internal circuits (GPS). For more information about the System test, see System Test System Test. The test can take up to approximately 40 seconds.
Check if the control module is OK or not.
If control module works OK is displayed.





Is the control module OK?

Yes - Intermittent fault

No - Replacing component

Hint: The control module contains a number of settings that the users can program in themselves. If possible these settings should be read off and noted down before the control module is replaced. So that the new control module can be programmed in the same way.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.
