Faulty Signal. Intermittent Fault
Faulty signal. Intermittent fault
Checking the wiring
- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the connector from the seat belt tensioner.
- Ignition on.
Note! Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-312 or SRS-322 is stored after the measurement is taken. Ignore the DTC which is stored as a result of this reading.
Connect an oscilloscope between seat belt tensioner 1 and ground. Take a reading for an intermittent short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
The oscilloscope should indicate a spiked pulse with a cyclic time of approximately 500 ms and an offset off approximately 2 V.
If the value deviates there is a short-circuit in the cable. Replace the cable harness.
Remedy as necessary.
Other information:
- To access / replace the seat belt tensioner, see Seat belts replacement, rear seat Rear Seat Belts.
