- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the connector from the seat belt tensioner.
- Ignition on.
Connect an oscilloscope between seat belt tensioner 1 and ground. Take a reading for an intermittent short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults. The oscilloscope should indicate a spiked pulse with an interval of approximately 500 ms and an offset off approximately 2 V.
If the value deviates there is a short-circuit in the cable. Replace the cable harness.
Also take readings between seat belt tensioner 2 and ground.
The oscilloscope should read approximately 2 V.
Remedy as necessary.









Select Continue when the fault has been remedied.
