Note! Before carrying out this test, check that the car is programmed to emit a visual acknowledgement signal when the alarm is armed as follows:
For information about programmed values see Design and Function. Disconnect the Volvo Scan Tool (ST) from The VIDA cart and read off programming status. LAMP.ACTIVE. should display the status ON for the turn signal lamps to flash once when the alarm is armed.
Is the status ON displayed?
Yes - Activating turn signal lamps
No - DONE

Activating turn signal lamps
- Ignition on.
- Use the Activation function to activate the turn signal lamps. The turn signal lamps should light.
Is this function OK?
Yes - No Fault Found
No - Checking connectors

- Disconnect the VGLA control module according to Replacing main control module Replacing Main Control Module.
- Check VGLA control module connector for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
- Ignition on.
- Use the Activation function to activate the turn signal lamps. The turn signal lamps should come on. If the turn signal lamps are activated the cause of the fault has been loose connections in the connector.
Is this function OK?
Yes - Fault has been remedied
No - Checking turn signal lamp function

- Ignition off.
- Disconnect VGLA control module.
- Bridge control module connector terminals A12 and A26.
The left turn signal lamp should light.
- Bridge control module connector terminals A13 and A26.
The right turn signal lamp should light.
Is this function OK?
Yes - Replacing component
No - Checking cables

Check cable between VGLA control module #12 and the left or right turn signal lamps for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Select "Continue" when the fault has been repaired.

Hint: After carrying out the repair check that the fault has been remedied as follows:
- Ignition off.
- Reconnect connectors, reinstall components.
- Ignition on.
- Select the Activation function to activate the turn signal lamps.
The turn signal lamps should come on.
