Replacing the motor and potentiometer in the backrest

Removing

Preparations




Make a note of radio code if anti-theft coded radio is installed.

Remove:
- battery negative lead
- seat from car according to: Replacing seat assembly Front Seat.
- upholstery according to: Replacing backrest upholstery Service and Repair.
- protective pad.
- screw securing motor.




Remove locking washer from drive shaft.
Pull out the drive shaft as far as the motor with the potentiometer can be slackened off.
Disconnect motor and potentiometer connector.
Remove potentiometer from motor using a screwdriver.

Note! Check the position of potentiometer on motor before removing.

Replace motor/potentiometer.
Join motor and potentiometer.
Assemble in reverse order.
