Removing

Removing lift mechanism motor with cable from power window lift mechanism cassette

Caution!
The lift mechanism motor must not be operated when the cables are not tensioned as they could get caught up in the motor.

Remove:

- door panel. See other manual: Doors, Interior, exterior C70.

- power window lift mechanism cassette from door. See other manual: Doors, Interior, exterior C70.

- window from the power window lift mechanism cassette.





Turn the cable cover adjusters (4) a quarter turn and pull them straight out.

Remove:

- cables from carriage (1).

Note!
The position of the adjustment screw on carriage (1) must not be changed when replacing lift mechanism motor, this makes it easier to adjust the window when the power window lift mechanism cassette is in the door.

- cables from the four wheels (3).

- screw on carriage (2) so that the cable can be removed from them.

Replace motor and cables.

Removing cables from motor

Remove the 5 screws and remove the power window lift motor cover.

Remove the cable drum with the 2 cables. The drum is secured on splines.

Note!
If the cables are removed while in the up position, the rear cable is wound up four revolutions.





Installing

Installing cables on the motor
Place the rear cable on the three upper windings on the cable drum and the front cable on the remaining winding.

Install:

- the cable drum on the splines and install the cover.

- the 5 screws.

Installing lift mechanism motor with cables in the power window mechanism cassette

Check that the cable is routed around all the four wheels.

Secure cables in the carriage (1).

Adjust cable tension using the two cable cover adjusters (4).

Measure the distance from the underside of the rail to the underside of the carriage (1).

Secure cable to carriage (2) and finger-tighten screw. The distance from the underside of the rail and the underside of the carriage (2) should be 25 mm (1") more than the corresponding distance to the other carriage (1).

Tighten the cable screw on the carriage (2).

Install:

- the window on the power window lift mechanism cassette.

- power window lift mechanism cassette on the door. See other manual: Doors, Interior, exterior C70.
