Checking immobilizer
- If there is a fault in the immobilizer the Motronic 4.4 engine control module (ECM) may not be permitted to start. It is important to check that the immobilizer is free of faults before continuing this fault-tracing.
Check appearance of ignition key to determine whether the car has an immobilizer.
