Checking Throttle Cable and Throttle Position
Checking The Throttle Cable
- Check that the throttle cable is not sticking.
Then proceed to test step below.
Checking The Throttle Angle
- Start the engine and idle it.
- Select scrolling values.
- Read off throttle position (TP) sensor signal.
- The signal should be approx. 0.5 Volts at closed throttle position (CTP).
If reading is OK:
^ Proceed to Checking For Air Leakage section.
If reading is incorrect:
^ Proceed to test step below.

- Check that the throttle spindle is in contact with the adjustment screw when the throttle pulley is in contact with the idling stop.
If the throttle spindle is in contact with the adjustment screw.
^ Try a new throttle body.
If there is an air leak.
