Replacement of contact reel for deployed steering wheel module





Caution! If the airbag module has been activated, the contact reel should also be replaced. The SRS ignition cable igniter connector may be damaged by the heat generated by deployment.

If replacing a deployed steering wheel module
- After a collision for example, replace both steering wheel module and contact reel in accordance with Steering wheel module, steering wheel and contact reel, replacement Airbag Steering Wheel Module, Steering Wheel and Contact Reel Replacement.

If replacing a non deployed steering wheel module
- As part of a routine service for example, continue on next step below.

Removing steering wheel module
- Remove steering wheel module by carrying out the following operations in Steering wheel module, steering wheel and contact reel, replacement Airbag Steering Wheel Module, Steering Wheel and Contact Reel Replacement.

Installing steering wheel module
- Install steering wheel module by carrying out the following operations in Steering wheel module, steering wheel and contact reel, replacement Airbag Steering Wheel Module, Steering Wheel and Contact Reel Replacement.
