AC. SRS/SIPS Labels
ACA. Warning and Information Labels
As a reminder that the car is installed with SRS and therefore needs to be handled carefully, labels have been placed in the car and are explained below.
On The Front Windscreen
Shows that the car is equipped with SRS.
The SIPS label is combined with the SIPS bag label.
On The Left-Hand Side Of The Steering Column Cover
Never release the steering column or steering gear without first locking the contact reel and removing the steering wheel.
SRS Labels On The B Pillar, Driver's Side
Airbag modules and explosive seat belt tensioners must be checked or replaced after a certain time. The SRS label on the B pillar shows the year and month when the driver airbag, passenger airbag and SIPS bag are due to be checked.
Replacement Of Steering Wheel Airbag Module/Passenger Side Airbag Module Or SIPS Bag
When replacing a steering wheel airbag module/passenger side airbag module or SIPS bag, the label with the year and month on must be replaced with the label accompanying the new component. The diagram shows replacement of date label for the steering wheel air bag module.
On The Dash Board and End Plate (Passenger Side)
The labels warn against putting a child seat on the passenger side front seat.
WARNING! Never put a child seat on the front passenger seat if the car is equipped with an SRS (airbag) on the passenger side.
On The Dashboard End Plate
The label warns against using upholstery covers that do not meet Volvo's specifications for the driver/passenger front seats, and do not install accessories at the side of, or near the SIPS bag.
On The Glove Compartment Regarding Disconnection Of Passenger Side Airbag Module
The label situated on the right corner of the glove compartment shows that the passenger side airbag module is disconnected. The label written in four languages is used in all markets (except Sweden).
The Swedish language label incorporates all the Nordic countries (i.e. the Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Icelandic and Finnish markets) and is situated at the bottom of the four-language label.
CAUTION! The passenger side airbag module ignition cable can be disconnected if the vehicle owner so wishes, as long as this does not breach any market legal requirements. This allows rear-facing child seats to be installed in the front passenger seat. Disconnect the passenger side airbag module.
On the upper side of the glove compartment
Torque setting for passenger side airbag.
