General
It is important that the special tool is operating correctly when fault-tracing and inspecting the SRS system. A defective special tool will cause the on-board diagnostic (OBD) system to give false readings and will make fault-tracing and checking more difficult.
The special tool must be calibrated using an ohmmeter before it is used to ensure that is fault free it.





Continue - Removing resistance

Removing resistance
- Remove the resistance by removing the section illustrated.
Check for any damage to the connector and wiring.





Continue - Diagnostic testing of the resistance

Diagnostic testing of the resistance
Use an ohmmeter to read off the resistance in the special tool.








- Connect the ohmmeter test probes to the special tool terminals as illustrated.

The ohmmeter should read between 1.65 and 2.35 ohms

OK - Fault-tracing information 1

Not OK - Fault-tracing information 2

The special tool is OK.
- Remove the piece of hose from the pins.

DONE

The special tool is defective.
- Scrap the tool and replace it with a new one
