Preparations
Before erasing diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) all indicated faults must be corrected.

Note! To obtain the correct communication with the control module during the procedure the instructions concerning the ignition switch position must be followed.

Select 1 to continue erasing.
Select 2 to interrupt erasing.

Connection of Volvo Scan Tool (ST)
Volvo ST must be connected to VIDA PC and vehicle to DLC in passenger compartment.





Is Volvo ST connected and switched ON?

Yes - Erasing DTCs

No - Connection of ST

Connection of Volvo Scan Tool (ST)

Connection of Volvo ST




- Ignition off.
- Insert blue memory cassette into Volvo ST.
- Connect adapter 951 1457 Adaptor 951 1457 Adaptor to cable 951 1458 Scan tool cable 6 meters 951 1458 Scan Tool Cable 6 Meters.
- Connect VIDA communication lead between the adapter and the VIDA PC.

Continue - Connection to DLC

- Connect Volvo ST cable (p/n) 951 1458 Scan tool cable 6 meters 951 1458 Scan Tool Cable 6 Meters to the DLC in passenger compartment.
- Switch on Volvo ST.

- Ignition on.
Select Volvo ST symbol to erase DTCs.






Numeric Result 0 - Reading DTCs

- Ignition off.
Select Volvo ST symbol to read DTCs.




- Start engine and wait one minute for the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) to be stored.
- If DTCs are recorded, make a note of them.

No DTCs should be recorded.

Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) have probably been stored during repair work.
Check that all connectors and components have been correctly connected.

Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored earlier
Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) have probably been stored during incorrectly performed repair work
Check that fault-tracing has been carried out correctly according to the relevant fault-tracing instructions.
It is possible to interrupt or make a new attempt to erase diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
