The control module has been unable to detect any electrical faults in the transmission circuitry or in circuitry connected to the transmission.

CAUSE OF FAULT
The control module has been unable to detect any electrical faults in the transmission circuitry or in circuitry connected to the transmission.

Faults may be purely mechanical, and do not always affect transmission function. Such faults include oil leaks or faults in adjacent components in the drive system. The latter are sometimes indicated by noises which occur when the car is being driven. The illustration below shows where the most common mechanical faults not revealed by diagnostic codes may be found.
