Condition
- DTCs not posted
- The fault is permanent
- Correct control module design (designed for TRACS) is fitted
Possible source
- Signal cable short circuit to ground or power
- Defective instrument panel (dashboard)

Check of TRACS warning light
- Ignition off.
TRACS warning light should be off.
Is the warning light off ?
Yes: BBB3
No: BBB2

Check for short circuits
Check the cable between control module #15 and instrument panel A29 for short circuiting to power [IIIB4]. Check Communication to Control Module [III]
Then continue with: BBB6

Check the instrument panel circuit
- Ignition on.
- Disconnect the TRACS switch.
Is the warning light lit?
Yes:BBB4
No:BBB5

Check for short circuiting and replace the component
Check the cable between control module #15 and the instrument panel for short circuiting to ground as per [IIIB3]. Check Communication to Control Module [III]
If the cable is OK, test with a new instrument panel.
Then continue with: BBB6

Replacement of a component
Test with a new TRACS switch.
Then continue with: BBB6

Verification
Hint: After repair, it is necessary to check that the fault has been rectified.
- Ignition off.
- Reconnect the connections, components etc.
- Ignition on.
When the ignition is switched on, the control module activates the TRACS warning light. Check that the warning light goes off after approx. 2 seconds.
Note! The warning light will not go out if the TRACS system is disabled by the TRACS switch or if a fault is registered in the control module
Does the warning light go out shortly after it is activated
Yes: Fault corrected
No: BBB7

Fault-tracing information
The fault should now have been diagnosed and corrected. Since this is not the case the fault-tracing has failed.
