Guide Rail and Height Adjuster

WARNING: Seats with SIPS bag must always have the transport safety device installed in order to avoid accidentally activating the system when working on the seat.

Removing

Preparations
- Make a note of radio code if anti-theft coded radio is installed.
- Remove battery negative lead.
- Cars with SIPS airbag: install the safety device for the SIPS bag.
- Remove seat from car.
- Turn seat upside down and place on a clean surface.







HHL2 Removing drive gear, left side
- Undo the clip at rear edge of seat that holds the mat.
- Remove the mat brackets.

Remove from the left side of the seat:
- the two screws and circlip retaining the drive gear
- drive gear from seat.


Removing motors





Seat without memory:
- Remove tie-strap holding connector to the motors.
- Separate connector.
- Remove the brackets with three motors (secured with two screws at each side).

Seat with memory:
- Remove the brackets with three motors (secured with two screws at each side).

Removing drive gear, right side




At right side of seat, remove:
- the two outer nuts which hold drive gear in place.
- the two screws and circlip.
Remove motors and drive gears place to one side.

Removal of height adjuster and seat rails
- Remove height adjuster with seat rails from seat.
Height adjuster is installed with two screws at each side

Replacing the height adjuster:
- Transfer seat rails to new height adjuster.
- Install height adjuster on seat.

Replacing seat rails:
- Transfer height adjuster to new guide rails.
- Transfer belt lock to new guide rail.
- Install height adjuster on seat.

Installing drive gear, right side




- Install drive gear at right side.
- Reinstall mat bracket (should be located on drive gear rear mounting and in stud screw on outside of seat).

Reinstalling motors




- Reinstall brackets with three motors in the seat.

Seat without memory:
- Reconnect connector.
- Reinstall connector in bracket with tie-strap.

Installing drive gear, left side




Check that guide rails have same position at both left and right sides.

- Reinstall drive gear at left side with two screws and circlip.
- Reinstall mat bracket.
- Reinstall mat in the brackets.
- Reinstall seat in car.
- Cars with SIPS airbag: remove the safety device.
- Replace battery negative lead.
