Checking Throttle Position and Idle Air Control Valve
Checking Throttle Angle
- Start the engine and idle it.
- Go into scrolling values.
- Read OFF throttle angle value.
- Throttle angle should be 0° at closed throttle position (CTP).
If reading is OK:
^ Proceed to: Checking Throttle Body section below.
If reading is incorrect:
^ Try a new throttle body (TB).
Checking Throttle Body
- Clean throttle body.
- Do the fault symptoms persist?
Yes:
^ Proceed to: Checking the Idle Air Control Valve Connector section below.
No:
^ Operation done.
Checking the Idle Air Control Valve Connector
- Clean and grease engine control module (ECM) and idle air control (IAC) valve connectors.
- Do the fault symptoms persist?
Yes:
^ Try a new idle air control valve.
No:
^ Operation done.
