Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

Draining Fuel System
- Ignition off.
- Drain fuel system.

Removing





Remove:
- cruise control vacuum reservoir from its mounting
- injector covers
- injector connectors
- screws holding fuel pressure regulator mounting bracket to intake manifold.





Removing Injectors
- Remove screws holding fuel rail
- Lift fuel rail with injectors.
- Remove screws holding mounting rail to fuel rail.
- Remove injector nozzle to be replaced.





Installing Injectors
- Install the new injector nozzle. Lubricate injector nozzle o-ring with petroleum jelly.
- Install mounting rail.
- Install fuel rail to intake manifold.
- Install new screws and tighten to 10 Nm (7.4 ft.lb).

Installing Other Components





Install:
- fuel pressure regulator mounting bracket to intake manifold.
- injector connectors
- injector covers
- cruise control vacuum reservoir to its mounting.
