Use of Tensioner

Tools Required
^ 999 5659 Tensioner
^ 999 5660 Mounting

1. The tensioner is used when working with the suspension where it is vital that the screwed joints to the rubber bushings are tightened in the normal position, that is to say in the same position as when the car is on the ground.
The tensioner offloads pressure on the components in the suspension when removing/installing. The tool is mounted on the rear axle member with mounting 999 5660. This means that the lift stability is not affected during work.
2. Install the long tensioner screw on the mounting.

a. Install mounting 999 5660 on rear axle member.

NOTE: Ensure that the tool's mating surfaces with the rear axle member are clean.

b. Screw tensioner 999 5659 into place in the long screw.

3. Ensure that the rollers are in contact with the control arms on both sides, see illustration.

4. Press up control arms into position. See: Normal position, using tensioner.
