Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Condition:
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored within 2 seconds when there is a short-circuit to ground in the signal cable and speed is > 2 km/h (1.2 mph).

Possible Source:
Short-circuit To ground in vehicle speed output signal cable between combined instrument panel and:
- engine control module (ECM).
- cruise control.
- audio, automatic volume control.
- any accessories installed.

Fault Symptom(s):

NOTE: The combined instrument panel displays no visible symptoms of this diagnostic trouble code (DTC).

- A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored in the engine control module (ECM) and the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lights.
- Cruise control stops working and a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored.
- Audio, automatic volume control not working.
