Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Condition:
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) CI-142 is stored if the combined instrument panel receives a signal from the outside temperature sensor corresponding to a temperature below -40 °C (-40 °F) (high signal) or higher than +60 °C (140 °F) (low signal) for at least 10 seconds.

Possible Source:
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in signal cable
- Short-circuit to ground in signal cable
- Open-circuit in signal cable or ground lead
- Contact resistance
- Defective outside temperature sensor

Fault Symptom(s):
The outside temperature gauge display shows - - -- instead of outside temperature.

Start fault-tracing with JB. "Signal Missing". Signal Missing
