Trouble Code Conditions
2-2-5 A/C-PRESSURE SENSOR, SIGNALTrouble Code Conditions
- Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) EFI-225 A/C pressure sensor signal is stored if the engine control module (ECM) receives a signal from the A/C pressure sensor corresponding to a pressure above 3,100 kPa (high signal) or below -81 kPa (low signal).
- When the engine is started with an engine temperature below +40°C, A/C pressure should rise by at least 95 kPa within 8 seconds. Diagnostic trouble code EFI-225 (faulty signal) is stored if pressure does not rise sufficiently.
Substitute value(s)
- The engine control module (ECM) assumes a substitute value of 13.5 kPa when the A/C compressor is running.
- Engine cooling fan (FC) fan runs at low-speed.
Possible source(s)
Signal too high:
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable.
- Open-circuit in signal or ground lead.
- Contact resistance in terminals.
- Defective A/C pressure sensor.
Signal too low:
- Short-circuit to ground in signal cable.
- Open-circuit in power cable.
- Short circuit to ground in power cable.
- Short-circuit to ground in fuel tank pressure sensor power cable.
- Short-circuit to ground in accelerometer power cable.
- Defective A/C pressure sensor.
Faulty signal:
- Defective A/C pressure sensor.
- Incorrect pressure in A/C system.
- Open-circuit in signal cable between pressure switch (Pressostat) and A/C compressor.
- Defective solenoid clutch/compressor.
Fault symptom(s)
- A/C compressor not running.
