Faulty Signal





Checking The Engine Cooling Fan
- Activate engine cooling fan (FC).
- Check that the engine cooling fan is working and that air is sucked into the control module box air hose connector on the fan shroud.
- Is the engine cooling fan working and is air sucked into the connector?

Yes:
^ Proceed to test step below.

No:
^ To continue fault tracing See: Code EFI-514 Engine Cooling Fan Low-Speed Signal.





Checking Air Supply
- Ignition on.
- Blower fan on highest speed.
- Close the dashboard air vents.
- Check that a gentle stream of air is being blown out of the control module box air hose.

If reading is OK:
^ Control module box cooling is working. Erase diagnostic trouble code (DTC).

If reading is incorrect:
^ Check that hoses and connectors are in place, are not blocked and are correctly connected. Clean or replace defective components.





Verification
- After carrying out the repair check that the fault has been remedied as follows:
- Ignition on.
- Blower fan on highest speed.
- Close the dashboard air vents.
- Check that a gentle stream of air is being blown out of the control module box air hose.

If reading is OK:
^ Fault corrected

If reading is incorrect:
^ Proceed to test step below.

Fault-tracing Information
- The verification result shows that the fault persists.
- Do you want to exit fault-tracing?

Yes:
^ Fault not corrected

No:
^ Return to Checking The Engine Cooling Fan section above.
