Condition

Hint: This fault-tracing procedure applies only to that part of the air conditioning (A/C) system governed by the Motronic 4.4. engine control module (ECM).
- No diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored.
- The fault is permanent.

Possible source
- Open-circuit in air conditioning (A/C) relay power supply.
- Open-circuit in cable between air conditioning (A/C) relay and engine control module (ECM).
- Open-circuit or short-circuit to ground in the cable between the air conditioning (A/C) relay and air conditioning (A/C) compressor.
- Open-circuit in cable between air conditioning (A/C) switch and engine control module (ECM).
- Defective air conditioning (A/C) relay, air conditioning (A/C) switch, blower fan switch, pressure switch (Pressostat) or compressor clutch.
