Lock Replacement

Before starting work, see CHA. Preparations Before Work. Procedures

CHB6 Removal of Lock, Hood Cover:





- Move hood to the position shown in the image.
- Turn ignition off.
- Make a note of any radio code.
- Disconnect the battery negative lead.

- Mark position of lock (use marker pen) as described in CHA. Preparations Before Work.





Remove:
- cable ties.
- connector.
- 3 screws from lock link.
- 2 screws from hood cover lock.
- microswitch as described in CHM6. Microswitch Replacement





- Release springs until they are in the neutral position.
- Move gear half (A) towards tension member and lift tension member, then move gear half further until wires no longer engage.

Remove:
- nuts from wire casing
- lock.

Remove lock.

CHB7 Installation of Lock, Hood Cover:
- Tighten casing on lock with nut. Set the locknut to the same position as before removal.





Install:
- new lock on wire. Tighten spring approximately 30 mm (1.18") (B) before gear half (A) is engaged.

- 2 screws in lock.
- 3 screws in lock link.
